Campaign Associate Director

Job summary: The campaign associate director reports to the director of development and is responsible for the oversight of the Campaign for Excellence in Faith and Learning and the outcomes of the major gift officer(s). They will cultivate and solicit major gifts for Southern Adventist University from individuals ranging of $250,000 - $500,000 as multi-year pledges. Their personal constituent portfolio range is of 50-75 prospects. The overall comprehensive campaign goal is of $75M over five years, ending 2017

Essential duties and responsibilities: •Develop and implement strategies in cooperation with the director of development and the vice president of advancement to ensure proper identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of all major gift givers for the Campaign. (Gifts over $250,000-$500,000)
•Personally manages a portfolio of 50 to 75 prospects.
•Travel to qualify, cultivate and solicit major gifts—minimum of 10 travel days a month, potentially will travel 100 days a year.
•Prepares written and oral presentations and proposals as needed.
•Solicits planned gifts in coordination with Planned Giving Office.
•Individually Responsible for securing a minimum of $2,500,000 annually; for a total campaign portfolio of $12.5M over five-years.

Management Duties and Responsibilities
•Provides staff support to the university president, vice president of advancement and volunteer leadership engaged in major gifts activities.
•Documents contacts and solicitation plans.
•Shares in the evaluation of existing fundraising efforts to assure maximum results in private support.

Institutional Duties and Responsibilities
•Participates in University events and serve on committees as needed.
•Performs other business related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. CFRE and Master’s degree preferred.

Skills: Must be enthusiastic in inviting others to give for Southern and demonstrate experience in successful campaign development and oversight. Demonstrate competence in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups as well as have strong oral and written communication skills. Have excellent organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and individuals concurrently. Practice confidentiality of information at all times. Excellent knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software and its application is helpful. Experience in planned giving programs is helpful.
Special Requirement: Must have a strongly expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, an SDA church member in good and regular standing.

Salary: Grade 1210) $46,688 - $54,470 base pay +
